Adverse Weather & Heat Policy
At Second Chance Ranch, the safety of our participants, families, volunteers, and horses is our top priority. Because our sessions take place outdoors, weather conditions can occasionally impact scheduling.
Weather Notifications:
In the event of inclement weather, Second Chance Ranch will notify participants of any cancellations or schedule changes by 1:00 p.m. on the day of the affected session. If conditions change suddenly during a session, our staff will respond promptly to ensure everyone’s safety.
During Storms:
If heavy rain or thunder begins during a session, horses will be secured, and activities will pause. In the event of lightning, sessions will end immediately, and families will be safely dismissed.Heat Policy:
When the heat index reaches between 95°F and 100°F, sessions may be shortened or modified for comfort and safety.
If temperatures exceed 100°F, all sessions will be canceled for the day.
Thank you for understanding and helping us maintain a safe and positive environment for both our participants and our equine partners.
